Thought chains

Today’s title comes from something that happens to me all the time – and, no doubt, probably happens to everyone else in the world as well… “thought chains”. It’s basically where you think of one thing and then another and another and you end up in some really random spot that makes you laugh – well, at least in my case.

Case in point is one I thought of a few moments ago. I was thinking about what to have for dinner when it began…

  1. What should I have for dinner?
  2. I have diced chicken and beef mince
  3. I could make beef lasagne or a chicken stir fry
  4. Hrm, they will probably both take too long and I’d prefer to cook lasagne tomorrow night when my BF is over – he likes my lasagne
  5. I have some vegies that I need to use fairly soon – maybe I could make it a mince & vegie lasagne?
  6. I wonder if I have a casserole dish big enough though? I don’t want to use the huge one – it’s overkill. Hrm…
  7. Ah yes, I do have a medium sized one…
  8. Oh wait, it’s not a casserole dish; it’s made of melamine and it would melt in the oven
  9. Haha that would be a funny sight – a lasagne in the oven dripping down through the wire rack in a white, melting plastic dish
  10. It could catch fire
  11. I remember back when my little brother was about 8 or 9 years old, mum was making one of those fancy Women’s Weekly cookbook kids-cakes for his birthday (it was a dog or something – probably a bit like this one)… but the baking tins she used were too small – so during the cooking process the cake rose out of the tin, fell over the edge onto the element and caught fire.
  12. My brother saw his lovely puppy-shaped cake – on fire – in the oven and, as expected when you’re a kid, started crying. It’s quite funny now that I remember it – poor brother though :( heh… :P

So there you have it – an example of a Thought Chain that had a nostalgic yet humorous ending. Have you had any funny thought chains lately? Let me know via the comments below (registration for an account is free – just click here to register for one).

Until next time… be good :)
