I take it personally (Session 6)
My 6th personal training session (read about the others here) was a little different, in that my usual trainer wasn’t available and I did a session with another guy instead.
The good thing about this was that I got to try out some different exercises and also got to have a chat about web design, of all things, which is what he is studying at uni when he’s not being a personal trainer.
Anyway, some of the exercises we did today were incline bench presses, lying bench presses (apparently I was pressing 70kg – which is amazing, because I’ve only been able to go 55kg on the bench at home, so.. wow?!). Either I seem to do much better when a PT is assisting, or he can’t count… haha. But, from memory, I recall seeing two 20′s on there first, then he put two10′s on for another set and finally, at the end, I saw him add two 5′s …which does equal 70 kilograms on the bar. So… wow?! I even surprised myself
We did some rope bicep curls, tricep dips, same-time seated (incline) bicep curls and some cable fly’s after that. I think the cable fly is my new favourite exercise. After the bench press, of course. Haha. We finished off with some overhand-grip barbell curls and some side ab holds (I’m sure they have a technical name, I’m just not sure what it is off the top of my head).
Truth be told, I’m not as sore today (I’m writing this on Tuesday, BTW) as I usually would be after a session with my usual trainer – but I should have asked for more weight
. Not to worry though… I’ll do a workout tomorrow night and push it a little harder than usual. I did enjoy the session, though, because I got to do some new exercises that I’d never done before, so that was good.
All good though! Until next time, happy gains! =).
