Yum Cha in the ‘Valley
This week has been pretty good – yesterday and today have been the best days, mainly. I got lots done, and everything at work is going very well for my department. I’ve also been offered a position as a company director on the board of directors (at the company I work for), which was rather exciting, but I want to see how my boss handles the [usually-quiet] Christmas period first – after all, he is the captain of the ship
Today Suzin (our finance manager) took me out to lunch for Yum Cha in the ‘Valley which was really really nice (and so cheap, too! my god!!). I’d never been before, and I couldn’t remember how to use chopsticks (I was taught by someone a few months ago – see diary entry from Monday 24/05/2004) but thankfully cutlery wasn’t far away
So yeah, that was my lovely day / week! hehe.
As mentioned on here several months ago, Suzin and I have finally gone into business; opening up a joint business account earlier in the week and development of the online store will commence in a few weeks; in the meantime, we’ll focus on the eBay store, which is doing rather well!
Jono’s online business (soon to be online @ getgifted.com) is slowly becoming more than just a pipe dream, and should be launched in a few weeks too (I finished the design of his web site template last night)… w00t w00t all very exciting
hehe!!
That’s all from me atm. Have a good night!
Oh – don’t forget to vote! If you’re confused and want to know ANYTHING related to tomorrow’s election, I strongly recommend this website. If you’re not sure how to vote, or want to vote properly for your team, check out this page. I found these pages extremely helpful and informative – and I highly recommend you read them if you’re not 100% sure about anything tomorrow.
Vote early, and vote often! If you (like me) are concerned about what support will be given to gay & lesbian members of the community, be sure to read this Word document – it outlines the responses from Labour, the Greens and the Democrats on several gay & lesbian issues. From the questions asked and the responses received, it looks like the Democrats should deserve your vote… they appear to care the most about the GLBT community.
But in saying that, everyone seems to have a different opinion. In Queensland, the Democrats give a higher preference to the homophobic ‘Family First’ party, whereas Labor places them a little further down the list… so who the hell do you vote for? Your guess is as good as mine; but I’m going for either Labor or the Democrats. In my opinion, I’d say that as long as it’s not bloody Howard in for yet another term, and as long as the party you vote for offers something better for the GLBT community than the sh*thouse support currently offered under a Liberal government.
