You’re popular today

Hey diary! Wow, 2 entries in one day hey? You’re popular today =) hehe. Continuing on from the last entry, it was fun visiting Daz at work – getting to see what he does during the day – working those machines like a pro ;) hehe. He was in his work clothing too, hehe *smiles*. He spontaneously asked the three of us if we should all do dinner; I was the only one that could make it, but I still wanted to, so we all agreed to meet back at his work at 5pm, when he was finished.

In the meantime, Ed, his BF and I drove over to JB in Lutwyche to look at some DVDs, and then we went over to Chermside (I hadn’t seen the new section yet). Ah, the “mall-whores” (his words) Edz and his BF were in their natural habitat… haha :P It was good – the new food-court is really pretty, but since it was 4pm, most of the stores were closing. We took a look in Big W and Kmart for some more DVDs (we were after something in particular). I ended up buying some MiniDiscs in JB (there’s one in Chermside too, lol) …it was good actually.

At 5, we went back into the Valley and they dropped me off outside Daz’s work. We drove into the Valley for dinner, which was really nice. We wanted to eat at Lucky’s, but they weren’t open yet so we shared a bowl of chips at the Coffee Club, then went to Lucky’s when they opened at 6 (we were both starving, hehe). I had the beef ravioli with a bolognaise sauce (it was much better then the same with cream sauce, which I’d had a few months ago [which was a bit bland]), but yeah – it was really nice. Daz has a pumpkin-filled pasts dish (starts with ‘m’; forgot the name, heh). It was really good, because it was just the two of us and we could have some time alone just talking about all kinda of things, like movies, Simpsons Episodes and his travels overseas. He had some amazing stories to tell; I can’t wait to see the photos!

After dinner, he kindly drove me home and we shared a quick kiss in my driveway (he always smiles; its cute), and then he went home to do some paperwork for work :) I had an awesome weekend!! Things are going very well, and I’m really enjoying the time we spend together… hopefully I’ll get a chance to see him again during the week.

Christmas is coming up soon (as you all know, heh), and my brother & his fiancé want to meet him on Christmas Eve, but I will have to see what he’s up to and whether he can make it. I think he mentioned he also opens presents the night before (his family are also of European – German / Polish origin), so that could be a no – but we’ll see! fortunately, he also has the period between Christmas and New Year off from work, and we’ve planned a few little things to do together then, so that should be fun… I’m looking forward to it.

All the concerts are coming up this weekend (with the last rehearsal taking place tomorrow night) and then on Friday, it all begins!! My most exciting weekend of the year is less than 7 days away! The first show is on Friday night, then more on Sat arvo, Sat night, and then two more for another company on the Sunday. Thankfully I’ll get to leave my gear there, as I’m doing all 5 shows. It’s good when both clients want to hire the same stuff – makes it easier between shows… no shifting of equipment or anything.

Both clients are using my live video feeds (where we take a feed from the camera guys and send it down into the dressing rooms downstairs so they can see what’s happening on stage, etc). One of the clients is using my laser (whereas the other isn’t), and the reverse goes for the projection systems where we project images onto the back wall behind the dancers on stage… it’s lots of fun, but a nightmare to setup in the time we have. We bump-in Friday from noon (first show at 7), and bump-out after 10pm on the Sunday evening… joy! heh. I think there’s a crew after party (for the first client) on the Saturday night, so that should be good. In 2004 we went to a bar on Oxford St Bulimba, but they closed at 1am & had to kick us out, and last year we just went to the teachers’ home and chatted on her balcony till 5am, heh… it was a great night!

Have great week everyone :-)
