Sweet like chocolate
Hello everyone. Wow… I’m still on a high from last night… it was awesome! But let’s rewind a little and start from when the ‘awesomeness’ really began – which was Thursday night. My boy came over for dinner, but rather than the usual “I’ll make something and surprise you with what it will be”, it became “I’ve made nothing – surprise! …but, we’re going to make something together!” …which was quite cool, because I thought we’d make our own pizzas
I’d bought lots of different ingredients like pepperoni, ham, bacon, smoked-sausage, tomato, herbs, cheese, capsicum, onions etc and cut them all up and put them in little bowls. It was really nice cooking together actually… we got to talk and create our own food at the same time. I think the both of us ended up having very similar pizzas (apart from jalapenos), but it was still fun. After that, we watched Gremlins 2, had some lollies for dessert and watched some more Black Books eps too.
On Friday, I had work, of course – which was also good. The day flew by, we had our usual BBQ at around 1pm and my colleague Simon made me a very strong rum & coke, so I was rather tipsy for the rest of the afternoon. Not only had I made myself a rather strong one beforehand, but these were all being provided in rather large drinking tumblers (big 400ml juice glasses hehe). Ah well, I was a chirpy little vegemite for the rest of the arvo!
On Friday night, I went bowling with my partner, Ed & his BF, and some other people (one of whom it was the birthday of [that's really bad sentence structure, I know]). It was great – I’d forgotten how much fun tenpin bowling really was (I hadn’t been in about 6 years) – and they were playing awesome 90′s music like Culture Beat, Nsync, Ilanda, and Michael Jackson there too.
In the first game, I scored second out of our team, with 90 points. My partner scored 98. In the second game, I scored highest in my team with about 80 or 90 I think? My partner came 2nd. I think Ed and his BF would have scored higher if they would have put a bit more force behind the ball – they were getting really good runs down to the pins quite often (very accurate and on target), but I think the lack of power meant pins kinda fell over (as opposed to toppling over), and this motion didn’t knock any other pins over on their way down… if you catch my drift? Anyway, it was still awesome fun, and I tihnk everyone had a great time.
Halfway through our 2nd game, the lane next to us filled with straight guys on beer-drinking spree. Aforementioned consumption of alcohol really showed in their skills (or lack thereof). One guy, whose bum was hanging out most of the time, kept hurling the ball like it was some kind of oversized cricket ball. It was funny watching them play actually… they’d run up, throw the ball and it’d be like BOOM! on the bowling-lane floor and then it’d veer off into the gutter each time.. aaahahah! We burst out laughing a few times, but had to look away and keep it down. No doubt they’d have wanted to use us a bowling balls if they had enough brain cells left to figure out we were laughing at them, hah! I still reckon we wouldn’t have knocked any of their pins over
LOL. with their skills, we’d have gone straight into the gutter too. Okay, I’ll stop teasing the straight guys now! LOL. I was a great night! I must thank Mr D for inviting me out to the event as his date, hehe =)
On Saturday I awoke at about 7 or 8 to send Mr D a text message (he asked me to remind him to bring his iRiver MP3 player down, as my iPod shuffle has carked it & train-trips to work are very boring atm), then went back to sleep again. At 11am, I woke up and decided to clean the house a bit, I had a haircut & colour in the city at 2 (which went till 4:30 lol), rushed like made through Coles to buy a few things for tonight, then down to Target to buy some wine glasses (mine are all still at my brother’s place), got a cab home and finished cleaning the house like mad. My shirt was itching from the haircut, so I had a shower, and then prepared all of the nibbly things for the evening.
At 6pm, just in the nick of time, I’d finished preparing everything and at precisely that moment, the girls arrived. Ah, the lovely girls – they are so cool! I’ve made some lovely new friends lately thanks to Ed
A few seconds later, Ed and his BF arrived. Ed kindly gave the girls the ‘grand tour’ while I tried to wedge a number of wine bottles into my packed fridge (will put pics on Misc. Stuff soon)… heh
We all helped carry nibbly things outside and then Mr D arrived. YaY! Everyone was here, 3 couples, hehe. We ate lots of nibbly things like crackers, dips, salmon, cheese, smoked sausage, etc for about 2 hours, played a bit of Uno.
At about 8:30, we drove down to Oxford Street Bulimba (not far from my place) for some Sushi at Sushi Station. One of the Asian waitresses there was very orderly, loud and organised… running around like a headless chook mind you, but she certainly had that place under control. I suppose it was like a train station, so she could have been the fat controller. Heh
Andy had had a few glasses of wine leading up to the Sushi Station, so he got a bit too excited each time the train came round. At one stage I think I was even trying to have a conversation with the little plastic man in the driver’s cab of the locomotive
Daz has really come out of his shell – he’s usually always the first one to hold my hand or touch my leg… even when we’re out to dinner or something like that… it’s sweet, cause I’m a big sucker for that kind of thing… very romantic
Ed and his BF noticed it too, and afterwards they were like “Awww, you two are sooo cute!” heh
After sushi, we grabbed some Cold Rock and drove back to my place. Speaking of Cold Rock – you must try the “Xmas Pudding” flavour ice cream they have – it tastes soooo good – and it actually really tastes like Xmas pudding! You have to try it
Once we got home, we were having fun standing in front of the projector looking at the Winamp visualisation patterns it was drawing on our clothes (lol). We then went outside to play Queens and Maids (a card game) for a bit longer, until everyone went home at about 11 or so… everyone except Daz, that is
We watched an episode of Black Books and cuddled on the couch. Things are going really well for us; I really enjoy his company & although we are still getting to know each other better, I can sense a strong connection between us. More time together getting to know one another will only strengthen that bond.
Oooh, and speaking of more time together, Ed has just suggested that we drive into the Valley today (Sunday) and surprise him at work, so we’re going to do that in an hour or two, heh. Actually, this all began when I realised Ed’s BF has mistaken my walled and phone for Ed’s last night (we have the same phone and similar wallets). Just after Daz left I called my mobile (realising it was gone) – and Ed answered, I was like ‘phew’… at least I didn’t leave it at the sushi place! I wasn’t at all concerned that they’d accidentally taken it, I was just concerned as to the whereabouts of my wallet – but luckily they had it too. Double phew!
Aww, how cute is this song ยป “Shanks & Bigfoot – Sweet like chocolate”… I haven’t heard it in aaages! *dances* hehe. Anyway, that’s all for now. I’d better get dressed now, cause Ed will be here soon… and then we’ll & visit Daz at work; should be good
Have a great Sunday everyone!
