Well ‘lil Andypanda is powering (pun!) ahead on his Powerbun trip… I’m almost halfway through Disc 3 already! I’m enjoying this phenomenon; albeit 12 years late (heh). I still don’t know everyone’s name – actually I only know the captain is Jane someone, and the Asian guy is ‘Something Kim’… and the doctor hasn’t picked a name yet. But I’ll get there… I’m too involved in the storyline of each episode to remember names at this stage – but I’m sure they’ll come to me in due course.
I haven’t really got much to post about tonight… I kinda thought I’d sit down and do a post following dinner. Actually specking of dinner, I’m cooking something in my slow cooker for the first time (Daz & I bought it on the weekend)… but unfortunately slow really means slow. I was hoping my Thai Green Chicken Curry would be ready after 3 hours – but even on high, the diced potato isn’t done yet. So I settled for some leftover quiche and two slices of the bread I made in my breadmaker last night… which was a curry & herb grain loaf (interesting, I know) – it’s very nice, although you can’t taste any curry.
I hope Daz is able to come to dinner tomorrow night… maybe by then the slow cooker will have cooked my meal, lol. And he can try some of my bread; although he’s had it before
hehe.
My day at work today was pretty good – it went really slowly though, which made it kinda boring. I have a lot of things out in the field waiting on other people, and they’re all either slow or waiting on other things fro other people. Like the NZ team – I’m meant to be doing business cards and brochures for them with a deadline to meet, but none of the phone numbers and other data I need is coming through fast enough.
And then there’s the website – I have a tonne of stuff to do with it, but can’t do any of it until the core backend database systems for it are finished. So I wait, and try to fill in time by going through my to-do list, but again, lots of tasks are waiting on other things, so there’s not much to do.
I’ve also been looking at the logistics of sending a team down to Sydney to film the Mardi Gras Parade in early March for another company film project. It looks like everything is doable – we just need to have our media passes approved and then I need to book flights, etc. I’m after another camera person, so if you can pay your own way there & back, let me know. A media pass will be funded. I was going to ask Daz to accompany me, but he works most weekends and doesn’t have his new roster yet – so he isn’t sure if he can come down. Even so, being his first parade, he’d probably want to watch it, and not be stuck behind a camera. But who knows – maybe when he gets his roster he might have that weekend free. We’ll see
Speaking of my boy, I have a really weird dream about him the other night. We were in some elevator at a busway, and some 9 year old kid in the lift said something about gay or whatever and then Daz hit him, LOL. The kid hit back and when we got to the end of the lift ride, some people came and took Daz. Then I remember going to some Woolworths store with a Today Tonight camera crew, because someone had tipped me off to him being held there. Really weird, LOL.
Thankfully (and somewhat conveniently), I purchased a dream book on the weekend at the Lifeline bookfest , so I’m going to have to look it up. But this kind of dream is very normal for me. I mean, they don’t happen often – but when they do, the storylines make no sense. That said, if I pull it apart and think of the elements, each one has a tie. The ‘camera crew’ might have to do with my mind deciding if Mardi Gras is worth filming, ‘elevators’ could be because the one at work has been broken for the past 2 days, ‘Woolworths’ could be because I’ve been reading about Woolworths donating all of their profit (from today’s sales, actually) to drought-stricken farmers, and ‘busways’ I’m not sure about. Hrm… interesting. Oh well – I’ll just look up the book and let you know if I find anything interesting.
Anyway, that’s about all from me for the moment. I’m going to go to bed and start reading one of the novels I bought on the weekend… oh, and investigate the slow-cooker situation to see what it’s doing
Goodnight all; & smoochies to my boy Daz =)
