Pranks
Good morning! I had another weird dream last night, but it wasn’t as interesting as the one I mentioned yesterday, hehe. Last night I had about 9.5 hours sleep – and I think the common theme here is that with these longer sleeps, I’m having dreams that I can remember. But OMG, my first dream was very odd. I was in the Queen Street Mall (Brisbane CBD’s main pedestrian mall) and for some reason I was waiting for a courier or something. The courier came in his Couriers Please truck (a pretty big one – 3 axles) – and he was a petty big bloke. I walked over to give him the package he was to deliver, but he said to wait a few minutes, as he had to grab something from a shop first.
So I waited by his truck as he walked off in the direction of a shop and went inside. I waited for 10 minutes but he didn’t come back, so I went into the shop that I’d seen him go into, and he was in there trying on a skirt! haha. Weiiird! That’s all I remember really. I do recall having a second dream – or maybe it was the 2nd part of my original dream, but my brother wanted to buy a new bike, and I remember riding a few test bikes around in a park with my brother. One had a really cool gear-system where you could select the gears using a touch-screen. A sign of the future, perhaps? Hrm… I should really patent these ideas
And now onto the title of my post.. “Pranks”. This morning we played a bit of a prank on someone in the office before he came in… we removed all of the wheels on his office chair, hehe. Unfortunately he found out like, 10 seconds later, because when he put his bag down, he pulled his chair back to sit down and it scraped on the mat
Doh. But still funny. We don’t play too many pranks here, but I recall some from the past in my last job – like swapping around a few keys on someone’s keyboard, and then it took them 30 minutes of not being able to login (password always ‘incorrect’) to figure out what we’d done, haha!!
In another instance, I was pranked when the LCD screen I was using had two ‘on’ switches – a click-switch on the back, and a ‘press’ one on the front. I had come back from lunch and it was off. I kept pressing the one on the front and it wouldn’t come on. I turned it on and off at the wall too, but nothing. No green light or anything! In frustration, I turned off my computer – loosing a few hours of work that had not been saved. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy when my colleague told me he had turned the click-switch off on the back of the LCD, and that I had restarted my computer, loosing hours worth of work, for no reason. Needless to say, the boss outlawed pranking after that… especially since it had caused me to loose half-a-days-worth of work.
But it was all in good fun. Mum has taken part in some funny pranks at work… like wrapping people’s desks (and everything on it) in gladwrap, alfoil, and putting hundreds of sticky-notes on car windows… heh. Anyway, have a great day all
