Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone! I’ve had a wonderful past two days. As mentioned in the previous post, we celebrate Christmas on the eve, which is fantastic because it means Daz was able to spend it with us.

We arrived at mum’s place at around 6:30pm or so, had a few drinks, then opened the presents together. I received some awesome gifts – from mum, a $100 Harvey Norman gift voucher (I had wished for a particular Logitech universal remote control, but since it wasn’t in stock anywhere we mutually decided a gift voucher from Harvey’s was a good idea, since I could get it when it came back into stock in Brisbane) and a box of chocolates.

From Daz I got a wonderful surprise… three Mythbusters DVDs (volumes 12, 13 and 14)!! He is so clever – he knows I love the show, but I didn’t ask for the DVDs so they were completely unexpected, yet I was over the moon because they were the perfect gift! It’s such a surprise when someone gets you something you wanted, but you didn’t ask for it – he just knew. It was fantastic! And of course, he also gave me a huge hug and lots of kisses. I gave him a photo & frame, a $75 gift voucher from JB Hi-Fi (he’s doing up his car stereo at the moment), the DJ Andypanda 20-disc complete discography box set thingy (heh – also good for the car stereo :P ) and a Star Trek book.

From my brother & Nikki I received another wonderful gift – a dinner for myself & Daz, with drinks and / or dancing, all fully paid-for. Awww, how sweet :) It was a really good Christmas for me this year, as I got to spend it with so many lovely people, and one very special person who I was so glad I could share the evening with. He wrote me a very nice card too; it’s sitting in front of me right now actually :-)

After the presents mum and B put on a feast – we had mango chicken salad, garlic prawns, fresh bread rolls from the oven, ham off the bone, a Summer Chicken Salad that I’d made and topped it off with a huge trifle! There was a bit of wheeling and dealing going on – Nikki was trading banana slices for cubes of mum’s delish home-made custard, and mum had put in some very custard-like fruit to throw us all off track in our bargaining efforts :P Daz got to see just how strange the family is, haha… :P There are some photos over in Misc. Stuff if you’d like to have a look.

Following dinner & dessert, we drank port and played Queen’s and Maid’s for an hour or so. I had a lucky streak and won the first 3 or 4 games, but then Daz and his clever strategies kicked in, and he was on fire… becoming the Queen a few times after that (hehe… ‘Queen’ :P ). Nah, all good! After that, we went to my brother’s place for a little while to have a look around and chat and then at around 5 past midnight, he had to go home so he could do the family thing for Christmas.

I stayed up a bit longer chatting with my brother and Snickers (about Daz funnily enough *wonders if his ears were burning* – but they really like him & said some sweet things about the two of us [aww! :D ]), then went to sleep.

I awoke the next morning at 8am – my brother made me a really nice coffee (I actually like coffee a lot more than I thought – I suppose that’s because every coffee I’ve had the last 3 years [and there haven't been many] have been instant, whereas this one was a really nice, proper cup of coffee!), we dropped Snickers off at work, and watched a few DVDs, went to the corner store, ate some awesome chicken sandwiches Nicky had made for us then had a 20 minute nap. I’d left my phone outside on the table during my nap, and I remember going to sleep thinking about Daz. When I woke up, there was an MMS from Daz, that had come in about the time I’d dozed off. Freaky! :D

After splashing my face with water to wake myself up, we watched Family Guy, had some cake and then at 6pm it was time to pickup Nicky from work, and for me to head on home. So therein lies the tale of my wonderful Christmas eve & day. Right this moment, I think Daz is up at Maroochydore with his relatives tucking into a delicious Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, all I have in the fridge is chocolate and two slices of a delicious white-chocolate mud cake… but I can still dream, right?

Merry Christmas everyone :-)
