Holidays (D21 & D22)
Day 21 of my holidays, Friday, was a bit of a quiet day… only two phone calls as opposed to the usual 10-a-day I had been getting in the past… but every Friday seems to be like that for me. I spent the day catching up on a bit of housework, did some washing, hit the gym, played some more C&C Red Alert 3 and worked hard to get my to-do list down to just two items. Yes… you read correctly, 2 haha. If only my work one was like that – it was at 200 when I left and will no-doubt be around double by the time I get back there! Crazy…
In the afternoon, my boy came round and we played on the Xbox for a bit before we got ready and he took me out for dinner for my birthday. For some weeks he had been saying it was just a dinner for the two of us, but I read a comment on Twitter between two friends that kind-of threw me into thinking something was up. I ignored it, but as soon as I got to Freestyle in the Valley, I knew it wasn’t just a dinner for two… heh. All of our friends were there, including mum & her partner, which was really lovely.
The food at Freestyle is not too bad – small in portion size, but I guess you go there for the desserts – they’re great! After 3 courses, everyone was essentially full!
In case you’re wondering, for my birthday I kindly received the following wonderful gifts from friends & family…
- A 1-year renewal on my Atomic magazine subscription
- A 1-year renewal on my Men’s Heath magazine subscription
- A Michael Jackson (in concert) DVD & some German food
- A Westfield voucher
- A JB Hi-Fi voucher
- Some T2 Chai tea
My boy mentioned something about another gift but it hadn’t arrived in time… I wonder what it could be?
Day 22 of my holidays was Saturday (and technically, my holidays were now over – since Saturday is part of the weekend and I don’t work weekends
). We slept in and my BF made me waffles for breakfast! Yum! I hadn’t had them in about 10 years… very nice! After that, we decided to go to Westfield Carindale to say hello to some of his ladies at Myer, then we headed to JB to buy some DVDs with the JB & Westfield vouchers I had received. I bought the first three seasons of Star Trek – Deep Space 9, as well as Season 3 of Star Trek Voyager (I had accidentally scratched one of my BF’s discs in his set some months ago – so I thought it only fair I replace it…
.
My boy had to head home in the afternoon to help his family prepare for a Fathers Day BBQ lunch thing that he had coming up on Sunday, so I had a nap for an hour or so then got ready for a dinner with the boys (Edz, Sam, Iain & Joel). Whilst getting ready, I decided to watch the Michael Jackson live in concert DVD that I’d been given as a present the night before – and I’d somehow managed to down a whole bag of microwave popcorn and about 4 strong vodka & V’s whilst doing it – so needless to say I very very tipsy by the time they picked me up. Not to worry, it was soon cured once we got to Huong’s and I had some food in me.
I must say – I’d never been to Huong’s before – but I really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, the food came out quickly (and it tasted very nice – I had a mild Beef Thai Yellow Curry) and the place wasn’t “packed” – it had a nice feel about it, too. We were there for quite some time – probably a good 2 to 2.5 hours, talking about allll kinds of stuff (haha…) before we drove to 3 Monkey’s and continued the chat there for dessert.
After that, we drove into the Valley and spent at least half an hour at The Den adult shop. Now that was interesting
I eventually got home at around 12:30 / 1am and went to bed. The end
hehe.
