Garuva’s

Hello peoples! I hope you are well – I’m great thanks. This weekend has been a truly wonderful one… on Friday night, mum, my bro, his fiance and I went to Garuva’s for the first time ever – a wonderful restaurant next to The Wickham in the Valley. It’s a little different thought… you sit on the floor on mats; a very unusual dining experience, but after having done it – I must say, it was much better than I had anticipated, and I give the experience and food 9 out of 10. I will definitely be going back there again!
Afterwards, we headed out to The Beat for a few drinks; then mum & I headed home in a cab. Saturday night mum came over again, and we’d arranged for Bash to meet us here for dinner, then all of us go clubbing (he just turned 18 and he’s never been out clubbing before). Unfortunately, he was called in to work, so mum & I had a nice marinated chicken & salad w/fresh bread that Andypanda made (heh) here at home, while he worked. We got the train into the Valley at around 10pm, and he met us at The Beat at 10:30 or so.
As per usual, we drank lots, danced for 3 hours non-stop (lol), saw a few shows, and, just like my first time clubbing (my friend Michael took me; all those years ago.. it’s what, 5 yrs ago now? LOL), mum, myself & Bash danced with many boys (and girls), and Bash even got two numbers and several extended pashes with boys on the dance floor… and just in case he was too drunk to remember – I have the video evidence. hehe ;-) Ah, camera-phones are good for something. I shall be posting those videos up later in my members section. Ok, just kidding :P

In other news I can’t believe it’s only a few weeks until rehearsal & show-time with the end-of-year productions that me, mum & some of my friends are involved with. This year I’m doing audio again, Brandt’s on fly’s and spot, and mum’s on 2nd spot. After the first lot of concerts, I have another rehearsal and 2 more shows for a different dance studio; I’m doing audio for their shows this year too. Their studio is not as big as the primary one I’m involved with, but with 150 students and growing, it’s not too far behind. The other [possibly good?] thing about this other studio is that they have 2 gay guys in it, both around 20 / 21 / 22… both of whom are good dancers, so it makes for a fun show. I suppose that makes at least 4 gay guys working that concert; 2 on stage, one on audio and my friend on lighting! LOL. One can’t complain :)
Speaking of people, I’ve been meeting some new & interesting people online lately; one I saw, for about 5 seconds, at the Beat last night as he walked past me. It wasn’t until he turned the corner that I realised who he was; but he was off to the Wickham. Oh well, next time.

I [finally] finished listening to Scott Sigler’s first Podcast novel, ‘EarthCore’, the other day…. [WARNING - SPOILER AHEAD!!] …aww, it’s so good to see Leibran and O’Doyle together at the end as the only survivors (apart from Sunny McGuiness).
It was also good to hear that bitch-face Kayla Meyers got killed by the Rocktopi, and that the Rocktopi & Silverbugs all got killed by the massive ‘orb’ detonation device inside Funeral Mountain. I’m now starting to listen to Scott’s second Podcast novel, Ancestor… which, from the first chapter alone, also sounds like it’s going to be a sensational story!

Hrm.. what else is there..? Ah – I’m off to Canberra in a few weeks for the launch of a new product line (has to do with my day-time job). Should be good fun; I’m doing all the audio / visual for the product launch, while my boss and others are doing the presentation, and whatever else is being done. More on that when it gets closer – I think it’s in about 12 days or so.
So yeah – that’s my weekend really. I hope yours was fun too! :-)
