Friday the 13th

Evening all *tips hat, adjusts monocle*. My today today was pretty darn groovy… it went quickly, and it was a lot of fun. My boss was in a great mood too, which is always good. He’s generally always in a good mood, but some days he’s in an uber-good mood – today was one of those days, and it just kinda filters out into the entire office. Everyone in the office had a great day today (despite the fact it’s Friday the 13th).

Regular readers are probably wondering why my boss’s moods impact on me so much, but let’s just say that when someone’s in the same 4m x 5m room as you all day long, it’s important you get along well. And my boss and I get along really well – so that’s good! We know that when we tell each other that something’s shit, we don’t take it personally – we just get on and fix it. There certainly aren’t too many companies out there where you can tell your boss straight-up that you don’t like his current haircut, or that an email he wrote to a client could have been written better, or whatever the case may be. We have a really close-knit team and we all get along so damn well. I reckon that’s why we do so well as a company. There’s a lot more to it than having a good product – if the team behind it gels, then things just work. And I think we virtually have it down-pat. If you haven’t already guessed, I really love where I work I guess workmates / colleagues are really important, because we all see each other more than we do our family / partners / friends. Especially when some of our employee’s live in the same house as my boss and his wife (saves everyone money, and they’re friends outside of work, so it works out well).

Anyway… so yeah, Valentines Day is tomorrow – but my BF doesn’t really do the Valentines Day thing; “it’s just a retail gimmick to make money”. Looking back, I’ve don’t think I’ve ever received flowers for Valentines Day (I’d say most people got their ‘gifts’, if any, today – given that tomorrow’s a Saturday and most places don’t deliver on Saturday’s). I did get flowers from Brandty once – flowers and a bunny actually – for Easter – since I didn’t (at the time) eat chocolate. I still have that bunny, haha! It’s next to my bed But I don’t think Daz got the hint, so… no flowers for me today, haha. But again, he did say he doesn’t do the Valentines Day thing, so I guess that’s to be expected. Tomorrow is still another day, however.

I figure Gemini’s aren’t the touchy/feely romantic type – which would explain why I’m rarely told I’m loved; it’s usually only after I say it first. And I’ve never (to this date) received “xoxo’s” in SMS’s – even if I send them first. I guess sometimes a Virgo likes to know they’re loved and cared for, since we ARE the touchy/feely romantic type. Oh well, I can’t have everything!

In other news – I’m home-alone tonight, because my flatmate is doing an all-nighter at his BF’s workplace (he works at a printing company and they have some massive printing job that needs to be finished by Monday and hence, the machinery needs to run 24/7 to make it in time – something like that). Ryno worked from 6pm – 7am last night, slept today during the day, and has gone back to work for another 6pm – 7am shift to get the job done. His BF (my flatmate) is doing the same shift to help out. They plan to sleep all day tomorrow (Saturday) and then do it again on Saturday night, I think. At least they’re getting paid well, hehe.

I must say, I have been most impressed with my flatmate and his BF (herein referred to as “my flatmates”, since his BF lives here – he just isn’t on the lease) lately. They’ve kept the place rather clean, I can get to sleep fairly easily because the TV isn’t up too loud at night anymore and Ryno is always willing to drop everything and lend me a hand with manly things like fixing stuff, helping me attach cycling computers to my bike, etc. It will be such a shame to loose them if / when they move out to build a house, which could be later in the year. Dah hehe.

Speaking of health, the gym stuff here at home is going well. I think I’m beginning to outgrow my multi-gym station – again. This will be the 2nd one I’ve grown out of now. They tend to get more expensive every time, lol – cause I buy bigger / fancier / more-powerful ones each time. I guess it’s part of the process you go through as you get better. As per usual, in usual Virgo fashion, I keep logs of all the exercises I do and how much I lift, so I can see my progress over time. I’m continually breaking PB’s, so I’m very happy with that. On the weight side of things, I’m around 78kg at the moment - ideally I’d like to be back up around 80kg or so, but my body fat is down around 12 or 13%, which is better than the 15/16% it was last month, so again – happy with that. Muscle is up too – generally hovering at around 48/52%. It’s weird to think that I have 40 kilo’s of muscle in me. That’s if I’ve done the calculations correctly. Freaky I’ve been hitting the tri’s and bi’s really hard lately, and I think its finally starting to show. The other night I worked the chest really hard… needless to say I had trouble doing a lot of simple things that night & the next morning – like taking my shirt off after the workout, or raising my hands to rub shampoo into my hair, LOL. There’s some new progress pics over in members and one in general as well.
