Christmas is coming…
It’s that time of year again (the end). I guess it’s good and bad… good, because Christmas means happy people, presents, families coming together, people sharing, celebrating, etc… and for some people it doesn’t mean as much. Some families …aren’t a family anymore. Some can’t afford presents, some have relatives all over the world and have never seen any of them before.
And for others, it’s normal like every year – just a busy time of the year, like it is for me. I am again working on several concert productions over the Christmas break, doing everything from audio mixing, to lighting, event management, promotions, etc. But I guess being busy is a good thing, because it pumps you full of hands on work, experience and offers a little $ on the side, which is always good, I guess
Aside from this, it also provides great networking opportunities and a chance to learn a heap, and meet lots of people. So if you ever have any spare time on your hands, and are good at something you love doing, get out there and tell people about it. Tell your friends, get them to tell theirs, tell your parents and get them to tell their workmates, spread the word – it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Teaching yourself is useless if you’ve got no one to show. So meet the people with the skills, and let them show you! Yes, it takes time, costs money, and might be a pain in the rear, but its sooo worth it in the end!
So with concerts shows, and work, and people, and all the other stuff that happens in life, time is of the essence, and it’s just run out for me, so I’ll have to leave it here for now. But please check back soon for an update. Oh – and, I’ve finally got those Sydney photos up! Sorry for the delay…
