Apparently Beyonce is crazy in love!

Get this – apparently Beyonce is crazy in love! Did you know that? I didn’t – but I do now …she’s only told me about 50 times so far. It’s a good remix of her track though, so it’s all good – I’ll keep bopping to it :)

Hey how cool is it when you watch TV shows that you used to watch as a kid, as an adult? I was flicking through the EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) the other night and saw that Round the Twist is back on the ABC at some ungodly hour on a Saturday (I think?) morning, so I set my PVR to record it… and I’ve just come out of watching it – hehe, how cool! Brings back lots of memories…most of the cast has changed (this was the 2000 edition with the new cast, as opposed to the original cast I grew up with), but the stories are still good – in the usual Paul Jennings fashion.

So yes, a bit of a flashback for me there on my lazy Sunday afternoon.

So what else have I been up to? Well this week coming is the big tradeshow for my industry (day job), so last week (and the past few weeks actually) have all been about preparing for that. The bosses from NZ are flying over this week coming to be here for the conference too… should be heaps of fun! I know some of the people I speak to on the phones are dying to say g’day, while some others & their families (who I met earlier in the year when they were up in QLD for a weekend) are taking me out to dinner, so that should be nice too!

It’s weird, I think I have more friends that are 35+ (years of age) than I do whom are under 35. I dunno, i can just connect with these people better, I think. Not sure why. Getting back to my own business, I have some lovely clients there too… they all just seem like such a lovely caring bunch of people… like the lady down the road who runs an online pet-accessories store is always helping me with all kinds of issues – like eating right, depression (the doctor tells me I have mild depression… apparently :P ) and so on – she’s really lovely… and again, in her 40s (I think).

Speaking of doctors, all my blood tests came back wonderfully… I have an excellent proportion of white & red blood cells (I was quite anaemic at the start of the year, but that seems to have gone), cholesterol is very, very good, testosterone is high, iron is great, my liver is excellent too.. um, I can’t remember what else they measure? Oh, my growth hormone is abnormally low… but the doctor thinks that’s a test abnormality, because if I’m this tall with a low growth hormone, imagine how tall I’d be with normal levels! haha. I’d be like 8 feet or something, LOL.

Results from the x-rays on the other hand, weren’t as good. I have ankles like a marathon runner (wait for the bombshell – a marathon runner… at the end of their career, haha!) – where the plastic-like “wrap” that covers the bone is fraying, which causes me to have sore ankles pretty much all the time… so that kinda sux – at least I have medication to stop it from hurting, so that’s alright I suppose. It was actually Brandt that convinced me to have them checked out, albeit it just from a passing comment he had made – but it worked, so I thank Brandty for that because if he wouldn’t have made the comment that he did, I’d probably still be here in pain wondering what was wrong :-)

While I was doing the whole “okay, while we’re at it, lets check everything out” type thing, I also made a booking to go to one of those places that checks your body for dangerous / cancerous moles or whatever they’re called (melanoma’s?)… and yay, nothing bad there either! I think I was more intrigued by the technology they were using, rather than noticing the doctor’s hands were wandering all over my body, heh :S (she had nice hair, I’ll give her that). But yeah, the camera thingy she was using was awesome! She even took a photo of a spot for me, and explained what she was looking for, how it worked, etc… was cool.

The only things I have left to check off my list at the moment is to see a dentist for a check-up (the last time i went to see a dentist was in school, which was like… 7 years ago :S), and then go and see an accountant so I can do my tax-type stuff. The client I spoke of earlier has also suggested I get a second opinion from a Naturopath – so I shall take my x-rays there and just see what they think. Surely there’s some kind of weird olive-pit-and-fish-oil or artichoke-and-egg-nog mixture / tablet / biscuit that achieves the same effect as the ‘drug’ I’m currently taking for relief of pain. We shall see, hey?

Well, that’s enough on pain for now, heh. Hey – I had a haircut today. My hair smells nice. Not sure what she used in it, but it’s good. I don’t want to wash it now, haha. But its ok, don’t worry – I will wash it :P For those readers who are DJ AndyPanda fanboys (and girls), sorry I haven’t done a mix in a while – I’m actually all ready to go and do a mix, except I’m waiting for my new CD player to arrive so that I can do aforementioned mix on it! Hopefully it won’t be too far away! I got a great deal on it too, thanks to one of the girls I went to school with working for my A/V supplier (we were both in the school Sound & Lighting crew together).

It’s funny how people take different paths in life – I kinda went the computer way, she kinda went the A/V way. Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if a) my dad didn’t teach my HTML in the MS-DOS editor (which I attribute my love for website design to), and b) I would have gone down the sound & lighting / event management path. Hrm, not sure – but I get to do it part-time with my own business, so that’s good! Caters for my cravings, heh.

Haven’t seen Jon in a while, well – I tell a lie, he came to work on Monday or Tuesday to pickup his laptop and YaY – he also loaned me the next season of Arrested Development. Man, how good is that show?!? I love it, I think I may even like it more than Scrubs! I spend about an hour in bed each night watching some more episodes of it on the laptop.

Oooh – almost forgot… I made some new eFriends the other day. One guy I met on GMM – his name is Adam. He’s 22, works in the city, lives in New Farm. Seems like a nice guy (also a Virgo), and he talks the same way I do on IM… in third person and always using “Mr”, haha. Oh and of course tonnes of emoticons :P

The other person I’ve been getting on with like a house on fire, is Dave. I’ve known Dave for… a year? I think? We’ve walked within a few meters of one another, but never actually officially met in person. He works in radio (is it just me, or do I seem to have a thing for these kind of people?) but lives in Sydney at the moment… that said, he’s not tied down to that location (his words). He’s after a relationship too, so yay – good start. We have been having the most amazing lengthy email convo’s lately, LOL. We’ve spoken on the phone a few times in the past, then I kinda discovered he had a crush on me (his words… yeah, I know! I didn’t think it was possible, but someone thinks so :P ) and the whole friendship kinda got cranked up a notch. He’s flying up soonish for an event / party, so I shall join him for that and hopefully get to know him better. Will keep you posted!

Just quickly – another one of my eFriends, whom I occasionally read the blog of, is having some relationship issues at the moment… *hugs* to him & his BF – I hope they work things out!

Well, I think that’s all for now. Time to go make something to eat, as I’m a ‘lil bit hungry at the mo. YaY, Dixie Chicks concert in a few days – can’t wait!
Be good, love to you all, and talk soon :)
